Cat litter furniture
Cat owners love their cats and bring endless joy to their homes. But there is a big problem with indoor cats, the litter box. They are messy, smelly and ugly to look at. For those who don’t have a good place to put a litter box, cat litter furniture may be the perfect solution. A cat litter box inside your home is very distractive. To a guest who walks in for the first time it doesn’t make a good first impression when the first thing they see is a dirty cat litter box.
Where to Store the Box
Other homes put their litter box at the garage, basement, and laundry room or any out of the way place. But for many other homes especially apartments, there are no such places. This kind of litter box will hide your cat’s “taking care of business” area inside an attractive and functional piece of furniture. Not only will it hide the unsightly area, it will also give the cat privacy and make them feel safe while they are tending to their business.
Touchy Cats?
Cats are sensitive. They won’t use it if they feel uncomfortable, especially when there are people around. People with big houses keep their litter box inside rooms that aren’t used often or in the basement. In this way, cats that are properly trained since they were kittens will go to the room they feel comfortable in, where their litter box is located away from the public.
How about Making your own Box?
Though you can always make alternatives like putting together your own disguised cat box, cats tend to appreciate well done furniture that cleverly disguises their litter boxes. Your regular litter box might work but, most of the time it does not look nice at all, and your cats may shy away from using it, which can leave you with a big mess to clean up. This is why it is so important to provide your cat with furniture that will allow them to feel comfortable using it, thus saving your own furniture from messes.
The Purpose
The mission of cat litter furniture is to replace the unattractive, aesthetically unpleasing cat litter box that is currently in living rooms. This cat litter furniture box provides privacy with wide entrances allowing easy ways of getting in and out for any sized cat. Just because you give them things like fancy collars, houses and great toys, (which are great things for your cats), doesn’t mean you are doing everything you can to be a responsible pet owner. It is the responsibility of the pet owner to take time and attention in training their cats.

Cat Care Questions
April 17th, 2010
As a pet owner, you get to enjoy a lot of benefits that come your way because of the enjoyment that pets bring into our lives. That enjoyment, however, does not come without some responsibility. For example, if we have a cat, then we are responsible for taking care of it and making sure that it gets enough to eat and has a warm place to sleep and gets plenty of exercise. As a responsible pet owner, there’s no doubt that you have some cat care questions on the best way to handle certain situations.
One of the most common cat care questions is whether it is cruel to the cat to keep it inside or if they should be left outside from time to time. First of all, this is a personal decision that each cat owner needs to make for themselves. Cats can do very well on their own whenever they are left outside and many enjoy prowling around the area but there are several things that need to be taken into consideration. First, you need to make sure that your cat is properly immunized in order to keep it healthy and secondly, you need to make sure that the cat is able to fend for itself in a potentially hostile environment. If you had your cat declawed, for example, it would be difficult for him to defend himself in case he was attacked.
Another one of the cat care questions that many people ask is if they should be giving their cat milk on a regular basis. Many cats seem to enjoy having milk and some of them do fine with it but it is not unusual to find a cat that is lactose intolerant, much the same as many humans. If your cat is having a problem with diarrhea or throwing up and you have been giving it cows milk then you may want to stop the practice to see if the problems clear up. Of course, there are other alternatives to cows milk, especially as it may cause problems for your cat.
There are many other questions that you may have but these two are some of the most common that most cat owners ask. Keep asking questions in order to find out the best way to care for your feline friend. It’s all part of being a responsible pet owner.
Cat Behavior Problems
April 12th, 2010
Even though cats can bring us a lot of joy, they can also have some problems that may cause us stress. Not only does it stress us but it also has the potential for stressing them and any other cats that are in the house. Fortunately, most cat behavior problems can be handled, especially if they are caught early when they first start exhibiting this behavior. Here are some of the most common cat behavior problems and what can be done to solve them.
One of the most common problems that cats have is aggression towards other cats whenever they are brought into the house. This is especially the case if one cat has been living in your home for a very long time and then another cat is introduced into the environment. The first thing that you need to do is to stop the behavior from happening whenever you are in the area. Allowing your cats to fight is not a solution to the problem and may, in fact, reinforce the behavior. In many cases, you can change the behavior of your cat by having them spayed or neutered. It may also help if you introduce the new cat into the area slowly so that there is not as much of a problem with him taking over the area that has already been claimed by your first cat.
Another one of the cat behavior problems that many people have to deal with is scratching. It’s a horrible feeling whenever you come home and see your house in tatters and perhaps your favorite sofa shredded. What can be done in order to stop this problem? One of the most common solutions to this problem is to have the cat declawed but if it spends any time outside then they should not be done. You can introduce a scratching post into the area in order to keep your cat’s attention and keep it off of the sofa. Try to match the fabric of the scratching post to whatever your cat enjoys scratching on the most. If this fails, and your cat continues to scratch at your furniture then try covering the area of the furniture with something that will be unappealing to your cat, such as plastic or cardboard. By making a few simple changes, this problem can be removed.
